Rite Nekoha debuted cat manga in 2020
Amazon Japan is listing this year's October issue of Neko Tomo magazine with a cover image, which reveals that Rite Nekoha's 2200-Nen Neko no Kuni Nippon (Japan, the Land of Cats in the Year 2200) 4-panel manga is getting a television anime adaptation. The magazine ships on August 16 (2200-Nen Neko no Kuni Nippon pictured below on left side).
Nekoha debuted the manga in Neko Tomo in 2020. The manga's first compiled book volume shipped in Japan in June 2020, and the second volume launched in December 2024.
The manga takes place in the year 2200, and Japan has become a land of cats as the human population's birth rate has declined. In this future world, cats can talk, learn, and work. The story follows a high school girl and her argumentative cat.
