Firefighter Daigo Duo Launch New Motorsports-Themed Manga in Spring 2026

This year's 22nd issue of Shogakukan's Big Comic Superior magazine announced on Friday that Masahito Soda and Kuro Tomiyama will launch a new as-yet untitled motorsports-themed manga in the magazine this coming spring.

Soda and Tomiyama launched the Megumi no Daigo: Kyūkoku no Orange (Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange) manga (seen right) in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in October 2020. Kodansha published the manga's first compiled book volume in April 2021, and it released the 12th volume on August 12. The manga was nominated in the Best Shonen Manga category of the 47th Kodansha Manga Awards in 2023.

The manga ended its first part in February 2024. The manga went on a hiatus before returning with the second part that May. The manga went back on hiatus on October 6.

The manga's anime adaptation premiered in September 2023. The anime's second cours (quarter of a year) began airing in January 2024. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.

Viz Media published all 20 volumes of Soda's original Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M (Megumi no Daigo) manga. Soda serialized the original manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine from 1995 to 1999. Soda's other manga include Capeta, The Tenth Prism, and Subaru.
