WEBTOON Launches Short-Form Video Episodes

The Mafia Nanny, Star Catcher, Osora are among 1st titles to get Video Episode series

WEBTOON has introduced Video Episodes, a new feature that adapts some of the platform's most popular series into short-form video with voice acting, sound, and motion. The update launched on Monday on WEBTOON's English-language app.

Each Video Episode runs about five minutes and includes motion, music, sound effects, and performances from voice actors. Beginning with 14 English WEBTOON Originals, each offering 20 episodes for free, the rollout will expand through the rest of 2025 with more episodes and additional titles.

"Innovating to create new storytelling formats and experiences is part of our DNA at WEBTOON Entertainment," said Yongsoo Kim, Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Global WEBTOON. "We know there's a massive appetite for short-form video among Gen Z. With Video Episodes we're making webcomics watchable, expanding how fans can enjoy WEBTOON series with a feature that can deepen engagement, help Creators reach more users, and deliver a new medium for amazing stories."
